Most people know that during the late 19th to early 20th century, millions of immigrants flocked to America. These people came from all over the eastern world, but why did they come? Well, many were escaping hardships such as war, famine, poverty, and corruption. Some people had family members in America, or their work moved them there. People came to the United States seeking new job opportunities, land, safety, and freedom of religion, press, and speech. Many found that life in the U.S. was better than their home country, but still faced many hardships once here.

AuthorHi guys! I am an 8th grade student who loves to dance, read, and do anything outside.
